Colleges are quick to point out that their job is to help students refine and pick a major and it’s perfectly fine to come in undecided, especially seeing that the average college student switches majors three times. These things are true. However, the goal of a student to make it out of college in four years (to avoid more financial debt) is not necessarily the goal of the institution.
